Medical Ethics Working Group

At the suggestion of medical professionals from the Ahr Valley and its neighbouring region, the Europäische Akademie’s Sponsors’ Club founded a working group on Medical Ethics (Arbeitskreis Medizinethik) in 1998; the academy has thus strengthened its regional activities. The working group’s members are medical doctors and other health professionals from the greater Bonn and Ahr Valley area. As part of the working group, the Europäische Akademie hosts regular lectures and debates with external speakers and members of the academy. It thus offers a platform for an exchange of ideas between practising doctors and experts from science and politics. It is the goal of the working group to stimulate discussions about current issues in medical ethics and health law, to transfer current knowledge in the field, as well as to assess concepts of medical ethics in practice by including the participants’ experience when developing new concepts.
